Lower-impact chartering comes from many specific choices: where the vessel can anchor, what goes overboard, how wildlife is approached and what the group brings aboard.
Use the right zone and mooring information
Check current marine-park zoning and access guidance for the region. Follow no-anchoring areas and use suitable public moorings where instructed and available. The skipper or operator should explain how the vessel avoids damaging reef, seagrass or sensitive seabed.
Reduce packaging before boarding
Plan meals, remove unnecessary outer packaging where safe and use refillable water containers when the operator’s water arrangement supports them. Confirm rubbish and recycling storage so the boat does not become cluttered during the trip.

Keep wildlife encounters passive

Ask the operator about sunscreen, cleaning, toilet and wastewater arrangements. Use products as directed and never discharge something merely because its marketing suggests it is natural.
Leave sites ready for the next boat
Secure equipment, collect every item brought ashore, avoid removing natural material and report any accidental loss or damage. A short guest briefing before departure makes these expectations easier to follow together.
