Calculated from the YouSail catalogue snapshot updated 26 September 2026. These are advertised starting points, not quotes or live availability.
There is no honest single average for an Australian catamaran charter. A three-hour private harbour booking, a nightly bareboat rate and a six-day package purchase different things. Compare within the same price basis first, then request a complete total for the trip you intend to book.
Published starting-price ranges
The ranges below use the numeric “from” amount in each YouSail record. They do not adjust for season, minimum duration, inclusions or boat size.
Hourly starting prices
$425–$2,890Often used for private day and event charters. Minimum hours and wharf time can materially change the total.
Nightly starting prices
$528–$14,940Common for multi-day bareboat fleets. Many records use a five- or seven-night assumption, so one night may not be bookable.
Daily starting prices
$4,750–$5,900Check whether the amount describes a calendar day, daylight hours or a named package.
Price coverage by charter region
A missing number is not a free or unavailable boat; it means the published record does not contain a reliable numeric starting price. Coverage also differs sharply by region and fleet type.
Build one comparable total
Ask every shortlisted operator for the same information: named vessel, dates, boarding and return times, guest count, skipper or crew, fuel, cleaning, linen, catering, equipment, marina costs, bond and weather or cancellation terms. Keep refundable security amounts separate from costs, but record the maximum financial exposure.
- Named vessel and exact duration
- Skipper and crew charges
- Fuel, cleaning and linen
- Catering and provisioning
- Wharf or marina charges
- Bond, excess and waiver
Questions people ask about charter prices
What does an indicative charter price mean?
It is a published starting point from the YouSail vessel record, not a live quote. Dates, duration, guests, crew, season and extras can change the final amount.
Can hourly and nightly prices be compared directly?
No. Convert each option into a total for the same dates, duration, guest group, crew arrangement and inclusions before comparing.
Why do some catamarans show no price?
The current YouSail record may not contain a reliable numeric starting amount. Contact the operator for a current itemised quote rather than inferring a price.
What extra costs should I ask about?
Ask about skipper or crew, fuel, cleaning, linen, catering, equipment, marina or wharf charges, provisioning, bond, damage waiver and payment fees.
